How this tool works

Create a straightforward invoice while keeping customer, item, and price data on the device. Draft storage uses a ToolsOrigin-specific local database.

Inputs and definitions

Enter seller and customer details, issue/due dates, currency and up to 100 items. Choose discounts, taxes and optional untaxed shipping, then review the invoice before exporting. Use Local drafts to create a blank document, duplicate current edits, open a saved draft or confirm deletion. Switching saves edited session work first; a failed save leaves it available for recovery.

Methodology

Amounts use exact decimal arithmetic and the selected currency’s minor units. Line discounts apply first; invoice discounts are allocated across lines; exclusive tax rounds on each discounted line. Shipping is untaxed. Displayed components reconcile to the total.

Assumptions

Restored older invoices retain their aggregate-tax convention until you explicitly change the policy. Missing dates remain blank. The tool does not infer exemptions, withholding, exchange rates or jurisdiction-specific numbering.

Worked examples

Worked example

Two units at USD 10.00 produce a USD 20.00 subtotal; 15% tax adds USD 3.00 for a USD 23.00 total.

  1. Enter and review

Enter seller and customer details, issue/due dates, currency and up to 100 items. Choose discounts, taxes and optional untaxed shipping, then review the invoice before exporting.

  2. Process locally

Quantities and prices remain decimal text. Posted amounts use the currency’s decimal places; discounts and selected exclusive taxes follow the displayed policy. Fixed discounts and shipping must fit those decimal places.

Validation example

The same workflow is repeated with a second valid input to confirm invoice generator behavior.

The output remains local and follows the documented validation and limitation rules.

Limitations and common mistakes

This is a general document builder, not tax or legal advice. Confirm mandatory fields, tax treatment, retention, sequential numbering, and currency rules.

PDF export loads its fonts from this site when you choose Download PDF. Check names and descriptions before exporting: unsupported characters stop the download and leave the invoice available for correction.
